Rear Vision explores why the world of scholarly communication has become so divided over the control, access and cost of knowledge. At the centre of the controversy is multinational Elsevier Publishing. Elsevier is one of the big four global publishers that dominate the STM industry- Science, Technology and Medical publishing. Guests Richard Poynder, Independent journalist and blogger specialising in information technology, scholarly communication, open access and open science. Stephen Leeder, Emeritus Professor of Public Health and Community Medicine and the Menzies Centre for Health Policy and School of Public Health Colin Steele, Emeritus Fellow ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences, University Librarian , ANU 1980-2002 Claudio Aspesi, Senior Research Analyst , Sanford C Bernstein , London Mike Taylor, Department of Earth Sciences, University of Bristol Michael Eisen, Biologist at UC Berkeley and an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
